Tucked away in remote access of Kipling Country, Kanha Earth Lodge is an upscale lodge residing near a tribal village and encompassing a jungle of its own. The twelve green sculpted independent cottages follow responsible tourism guidelines. Lot of rustic influence is evident in the construction and the interiors are well done with local artifacts that gel well with the modern assemblage.
The enclosed campus comprise of central eating place and a well stocked library besides a swimming pool and a garden. A lounge and an interpretation hall are meant for relaxation and interactive sessions with the resident naturalists. The luxury resort provides a good wildlife experience through tiger safaris and a number of activities. The lodge has won several International awards and continues to do so for its green practices and eco-friendly approach. A lot of eco-friendly practices are followed by the lodge management in order to reduce carbon footprint.
Accommodation & Dining
The complex encloses twelve cottages well appointed independent and equipped with all modern amenities and en-suite bathrooms. The architecture of Kanha Earth Lodge is impressive with traditional design and décor to gel with the picturesque Gond tribal hamlets. Most of the materials used in construction are local and the furniture is made from used and recycled wood. They are well appointed air condition and furnished for extreme comfort and warm cozy ambiance. Large verandahs offer view of the verdant surroundings and the green fields.
A multi-cuisine dining hall provides guest with all meals besides the lodge organizes bush dinners and sit out meals beside the camp fire.
- All cottages are inspired by traditional Gond architecture and use locally available materials such as mud plaster, stone, terracotta tiles, rough-hewn timber beams and furniture made from waste and recycled wood, which helps them to blend in seamlessly with their surroundings.
- All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have dressing rooms, writing table and chair and large verandahs with forest views.
- All rooms have 24-hour power back.
- The main building is rustic, yet refined, built mainly with local stone, logs, baked tiles, and furnished with local tribal artefacts and crisp cotton upholstery.
- The lodge has a dining hall, nature library-cum-presentation room and an Eco shop that contributes 25 percent of its proceeds towards conservation activities.
- The infinity pool is set between Mahua trees and its infinity edges merge into Kanha’s forests.

Cancellation Policy:

- 7 days and less – Nil refund
- 8 days to 21 days – 40% refund
- 21 days to 45 days – 60% refund
- 45 days and above – 80% refund
- Minimum 20% cancellation will be applicable on all Bookings.
- Cancellation amount is calculated as per the total booking amount and not as per the advance deposited.
Child Policy:
- 1 child below 5 years is complimentary, others will be charged 25% of the double’s cost.
- Children between 5-12 years are 25% of the cost of a double package in the same rooms.
- Above 12 years at 40% of the cost of the double package, if a minimum 65% extra child supplement has been paid, an automatic upgrade to 2 rooms will be provided, subject to availability.
- We endeavour to practice sustainable wildlife tourism of the highest standards and are signatories of TOFT (Travel Operators for Tigers), an international campaign advocating responsible tourism as a way to save India’s wildlife.
- We have also created a Conservation Cell in order to engage in action-based wildlife and local people issues.
- Use of CFL lamps for all light fittings and LED fittings for exterior lighting assisted by battery bank and solar PVC panels.
- Use of traditional Gond tribal artefacts for interior décor and stocking of artefacts for sale in our souvenir shop.

- Not a single tree was felled during construction. We also promoted landscape regeneration – what was once a barren estate is today a thriving micro-habitat.
- Buildings were sited around existing trees, so as not to disturb vegetation and to gain added protection from solar radiant heat.
- Created a natural wetland by digging a large pit for rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge, which now attracts wild animals, especially in summer.
- Our policy is to employ and procure whatever we can from local communities, in order to include them in wildlife tourism and help them benefit from it.
- 80% of our staff are from nearby villages and are trained to industry standards.
- Under our Village Kitchen Garden Project, we have partnered with 5 families to grow fresh produce for the lodge, and in turn, support them with seeds and technical advice.
